Dreaming of a Life Unlived:

Stories And Portraits of Women

Living Without Children

Discover the stories
that started it all

My first book, Dreaming of a Life Unlived, was born from love, anger, and the desire to make women like me visible. It gathers powerful stories of women navigating life without children — stories of grief, strength, and hope.

This book started my journey into advocacy and public speaking, shaping the work I continue to do today.

By purchasing Dreaming of a Life Unlived, you’re helping to support
my work amplifying the voices of childless women.

hi there!

I'm Yvonne

PUBLIC SPEAKER | AUTHOR | ACTIVIST | FACILITATOR

I am a British author and activist for the Childless women of colour. I wrote my book out of the anger for me and the other women navigating a life without children who were not being heard or listened to by the circles we find ourselves in. ‘Dreaming of a Life Unlived: Intimate Stories and Portraits of Women Without Children’, was conceived out of love and understanding and born to give women like me the permission to unashamedly own our stories.

I am a public speaker who has appeared on numerous radio and television programmes, including BBC Radio 4’s ‘Woman’s Hour’ and the BBC One documentary Myleene: Miscarriage & Me. Recognised as a leading voice on the experiences of women of colour and infertility, I create inclusive spaces for Black women, women of colour, and others to openly share their journeys of living without children, while also speaking on women’s wellbeing and inclusion.

Gifts of Grief

Why does society always have to fix us???

I saw on the news recently that a woman in Sweden  has become the first in the world to have a baby after having a womb transplant - and now  doctors have been granted approval to carry out the UK’s first womb transplants. When I first heard this, I wasn’t even sure...
