Following on from the Fibroids, Hysterectomy and Beyond annual UK in-person conference (FHAB UK) earlier this year Verelba Mind & Body presents FHAB UK – ‘What We Need to Know, 2024’ webinar. Feedback to both in-person and online events in 2023 and earlier this year was fantastic, enabling individuals to make informed decisions about their wellbeing! This is a not-for -profit initiative; we welcome donations to support these services. Please donate what you can and attend.
This Sunday evening online event, serves as a beacon of hope, standing firm at the intersection of increased health awareness, community support, and the breakdown of barriers tied to certain health conditions. Fibroids are non-cancerous growths in/on the womb and hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the womb (sometimes along with other structures associated with it). What are the symptoms? How can we manage them? What are the options for treatment? Menopause support? Sex Questions? Can what we eat have an effect on our gynae health? Want to share what you experienced? Listen to the experts, like surgeons and subject specialists online, ask questions.
Now more than ever, dialogue, empathetic understanding, and breaking down of social taboos are critical elements that propel advancements in health and social environments. Following on from the inaugural launch in April 2023 and continuation this year, an online event which, by the mere fact of its existence, promotes dialogue, minimises loneliness, and breaks down the taboos surrounding these issues in women’s healthcare is a few months away!
Who is it meant for? It’s for all adults and teenagers who are interested, regardless of age or ethnicity. Were you aware that women from certain communities exhibit a higher incidence of fibroids for instance, African-Caribbean women are 3 to 4 times more susceptible to developing fibroids in their lifetime, (84% in some USA studies); followed by Asian women with lowest incidence in European women. Many women then end up undergoing surgery; NHS England carries out approximately 40,000 hysterectomies a year (NHS 2019/2020).
