We excited that they would get to visit Cleve\u2019s spiritual home for the first time. As you can imagine, this trip turned out to be different from what we had planned and one that I knew would be hard. Other than planning a ceremony at the Royal Sankofa Estate (where we had planned to get married in November) to honour Cleve\u2019s transition to his ancestors, it turned out that I unwittingly planned the ceremony for a year to the day of us first arriving at the Royal Sankofa on December 20th, 2023. The timing, the place, and the memories all intertwined in ways I hadn\u2019t anticipated.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/findingmyplanb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image.png?resize=1024%2C577&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/findingmyplanb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-980x552.png 980w, https:\/\/findingmyplanb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-480x270.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>A Holiday of Healing: Grieving, Honouring, and Finding Peace<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Our holiday was a mixture of love, laughter, sorrow, and tears. The setting and the people I shared it with created a space where I could grieve in a way I hadn\u2019t been able to before. It became a sacred time to honour not only the life Cleve that I had shared, but also the dreams we had for the future, dreams that will never come to be. In this place, I found a sense of peace, even amid the pain, and a way to reflect on both the past we cherished and the future we had hoped for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>Looking Ahead: Reflecting on 2025 and the Exciting Journey Ahead<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Now that I\u2019m back home, I\u2019ve started to reflect on what 2025 might bring.
